New story is available at the BookWorm's Library

I envisioned this story announcement going out much closer to the last one—like some time last year. But then, if I was dependable for steady updates, you wouldn’t be waiting on a newsletter. I hope you love me regardless.

What has happened since the last newsletter:

  • revamped the BookWorm’s Library with Project Wonderful Ads.
This ad program isn't based on the click-through model; instead, you're paid for the amount of time the buyer wants to spend on your page. Since there are no stipulations on clicking, go ahead and visit the links that appeal to you.
  • discovered a new love in Syfy Channel's miniseries Alice.
This is not the Disney version or the Tim Burton version now currently in the theater. But it is a sequel to Lewis Carroll's classic stories, and I highly recommend getting it on DVD.
  • graduated with a Masters of Arts.
Ah, the true culprit behind the delays. Once the 2009 Fall semester started, I was concentrating solely on finishing my M.A. Exam Part 1 (otherwise known as the dreaded Faulkner paper). I was victorious and got the diploma to prove it.
  • the Saints won the Superbowl.
I'm not a sports fan, but it was a miracle season of hard work for the players. I ended up watching my first two football games ever. New Orleans still hasn't stopped partying about it. Yes, I'm serious. They had a release party for the DVD of the highlights of the season and the attendees cheered just as loudly as if the footage were the live games all over again.
  • turned thirty-three.
Had another birthday, which means I've been writing for twenty-two years now. That's a humbling thought.
  • created the Reference Wiki. Second reason for the delay, I decided to change the static web pages listing who's who in my fanfics into a wiki that everyone with accounts at the Circulation Desk can update and get some information up on the Tin Man universe. I badly misjudged the time necessary for this step. The Reference Wiki is running, but I am still in the process of adding the information I had already written.

Since I was concerned with making information available about Tin Man, you may have a guess as to where the next stories are set. Next up is the development of Zackverse with Tin Man: Dragons and Ninjas. Five months after the Eclipse, Longcoat attacks and dragon sightings terrorize the population, so DG and her companions set out to save the O.Z. again and cross paths with a Slipper on a mission of his own. Author's Notes are also available.

And so is the soundtrack. Other people in the Tin Man fandom inspired me to make a fanmix soundtrack for Dragons and Ninjas. This soon expanded to fanmixes for all my songfics. This fanmix is slightly different from the others, since I only quoted one song in the story. The rest of the songs to bring the soundtrack to twelve tracks are theme songs for the characters and situations.

  1. ”It Doesn’t Matter” by Alison Krauss and Union Station – DG’s theme
  2. ”Ordinary” by Train – Zack’s theme
  3. "What If" by Creed - Cain’s theme
  4. “Can’t Get It Out of My Head” by Velvet Revolver – Glitch’s Theme
  5. ”The River Sings” by Enya – Raw’s theme
  6. ”Hold Out Your Hand” by Nickelback – Jeb’s theme
  7. ”Suffer” by Echoing Green – DG’s breakdown and Cain’s torture
  8. ”Just Like You” by Three Days Grace – Ichiro’s theme
  9. ”Avarice” by Disturbed – Zero’s theme
  10. ”Save this Fairyland” by Angelzoom – Going into battle
  11. ”I Turn to You” by Melanie C – DG and Cain’s love/rescue theme
  12. ”Home” by Breaking Benjamin – overall novel theme
