Legend of Zelda Overview
The Show:
The Legend of Zelda is a series of video games put out by Nintendo. Each game features a pair of heroes, Link and Princess Zelda, fighting an evil wizard/monster named Ganon over the possession of a magical object called the Triforce. The first game, The Legend of Zelda, came out in 1987; the second, The Legend of Zelda: Link II, in 1988. A cartoon series was developed from the games and was shown on the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. Link and Princess Zelda also guest-starred in four episodes of Captain N: the Game Master, a show that used many video games developed by Nintendo. The third game, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, came out in 1992. The fourth game, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, came out in 1993 for the Nintendo Gameboy. The fifth game, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, came out in 1998. The sixth game, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, came out in 2000. After this I stopped keeping track of them.
What You Need to Know to Enjoy My Stories:
Each game has a Link, Zelda, and Ganon. Only Ganon is the same character from game to game. Chronologically speaking, the fifth game comes first. The Link and Zelda in Ocarina of Time are the ancestors of the Link and Zelda in A Link to the Past, the third game. They in turn are the ancestors of the Link and Zelda in the first two games. The Legend of Zelda cartoon series and the Link and Zelda featured on the Captain N cartoon series are the ones from the first two games, and they are the ones my stories are about too. For a more
complete look at the history of Hyrule see my The Legend of Zelda/Legends of Hyrule Family Tree and Chronology.
